An electric panel upgrade gives your home the safe capacity it needs for how you use power today. Many Mesa homes still run on panels that were sized for a smaller house with fewer appliances, long before EV chargers, second air conditioners and home offices became common.
JBEE Industries is a licensed, bonded and insured electrical contractor, and we upgrade and replace electrical panels across Mesa and the East Valley. We start with a load calculation, explain your options in plain words, and give you upfront pricing before any work begins.
Your panel is the hub that sends power to every circuit in the house. When it is overloaded, worn or outdated, it usually lets you know. These are the signs we see most often in Mesa homes.
Arizona summers make the problem worse. Air conditioners run for long stretches in triple digit heat, and a panel that barely keeps up in spring can start tripping breakers in July. Many panels also sit on exterior walls in direct sun, which adds heat to connections that are already working hard.
These two terms get used interchangeably, but they are not the same job. A panel replacement swaps out the breaker panel itself, usually because it is worn, unsafe or out of space, while keeping the same amount of power coming into the home.
A service upgrade increases the amount of power your home can draw, for example moving from 100 amp to 200 amp service. That can involve the meter base, the service entrance wiring and coordination with your utility, in addition to the new panel. Many older homes have 100 amp service, while most newer homes are built with 200 amps.
Sometimes neither is needed. If your service has enough capacity but the panel is simply out of space, a subpanel can add circuits for a garage, workshop or addition. We will tell you honestly which option fits your home.
Most panel upgrades we quote start with a new project. A Level 2 EV charger needs its own dedicated circuit, and in homes with limited capacity that is often the reason for the upgrade. Our EV charger installation page explains how we check whether your panel can handle a charger.
Solar is another common trigger. How much solar your home can connect depends partly on the rating of your panel’s busbar and main breaker, so the panel is part of any solar plan. The same goes for heat pumps, electric ranges and other appliances that replace gas. If you are planning more than one of these, it pays to size the panel once for all of them.
Every job starts with a visit and a load calculation, which adds up what your home uses now and what you plan to add. From there we recommend the right size panel or service and give you a free estimate with upfront pricing.
Panel work usually requires a permit and a city inspection, and a service upgrade typically requires your utility to disconnect and reconnect power. Your power will be off while the work is done, and we will tell you ahead of time what to expect. When the new panel is in, we label every circuit, test the system, and walk you through it.
Panel upgrade cost depends on the scope. A like for like panel replacement is a different job than a full service upgrade with a new meter base. Other factors include the panel’s location, the condition of existing wiring and grounding, and whether any circuits need to be added or corrected to bring the system up to code.
We do not guess at prices over the phone because every home is different. We come out, look at your system, and give you a free estimate. Financing options are available on larger upgrades.

JBee did a turnkey HVAC install. Every aspect went as promised. Low/high voltage electrical, ductwork, crane and roof install, wifi thermostat, all went like clockwork. And to a person, the crews (specialists in each area) were impressive. Arrived exactly when promised and stayed busy. I might also add their clean-up made it look as if they were never there. Highly reccomendPosted on Google![]()
